The McCarthy-Paisley Band…

is based in central NY. They offer their audience a fresh perspective of traditional, contemporary and original tunes based on Bluegrass and Folk genres.

Jacqui McCarthy began singing with Karl Paisley in the winter of 2002 after meeting at some local acoustic music gatherings.  During that time, Jacqui was recording her renowned folk album, Courting & Trees, at a local recording studio. It was then when she began seeking other musicians to broaden her horizons. When she met Karl, a musical match was made.

Karl Paisley’s contribution of original material helps mold their distinctive sound. Karl’s vast range of musical background landed him in the same recording studio as Jacqui to record with his local four-piece Bluegrass band.

As a result of her successful recording, Jacqui keeps busy performing with Karl, either as a duo or with the accompaniment of some of the area’s top musicians. Sammy award winners Perry Cleaveland on mandolin and Henry Jankiewicz on fiddle join banjo standout Jeremy Huber and bass veteran, Don Anderson rounding out this seasoned ensemble.

Karl and Jacqui combine their talents and love for traditional music & contemporary songwriters to bring the public a new "old" sound. Based on fundamental human experiences and unique musical arrangements, their selection of songs appeal to a wide range of listeners. While both play acoustic guitar as their primary instrument, they compliment each other's guitar styles to create a solid foundation for their notably pleasing vocal blends and close harmonies.

     2005 - 2006

Some call it “Roots Music”, others call it “Americana”. No matter what label the media use, your audience is sure to be impressed with the blend of tradition and contemporary songs that the McCarthy-Paisley Band bring to the acoustic stage.  Select dates are available for the remainder of 2005. 2006 dates are being accepted now as well.  Private event dates are also available for family, corporate or municipal gatherings.
